With insights from three Industry leaders giving examples of their own journey, you will be inspired and surprised at how they came to be where they are today.
Featuring a powerhouse panel of renowned experts: multi-disciplinary creative Nicole Monks, Australian street artist and illustrator Mulga (aka Joel Moore), and award-winning creative entrepreneur Monica Davidson, who will be questioned by the insightful Renee Collocott from Manning Regional Art Gallery.

Panellists, who are they?
is a multi-disciplinary creative of Yamaji Wajarri, Dutch and English heritage living and working on Awabakal Country (Newcastle). Monks’ practice is informed by her cross-cultural identity, using storytelling as a way to connect the past with the present and future. Her works take a conceptual approach that are embedded with narratives and aim to promote conversation and connection. An award-winning designer and artist, Monks crosses disciplines to work with furniture and video, placemaking, tactile works, installation, and activation. Monks’ work reflects Aboriginal philosophies of sustainability, innovation and collaboration. Monks is well known for her success as a solo and collaborative creative, founding design practice blackandwhite creative and public art company mili mili.
is an award-winning expert on the creative industries. She started as a freelance writer, performer, and filmmaker, and after launching her production company, she began sharing her entrepreneurial learnings by mentoring and teaching other creatives. In 2013 she consolidated her knowledge with a Master’s degree in Screen Arts and Business from AFTRS, and shortly after was appointed as Australia’s first Creative Industries Business Advisor. In 2016 Monica founded Creative Plus Business, a social enterprise that educates creative practitioners about business, money and marketing. Monica also continues her own work, releasing her feature documentary/musical Handbag on SBS in 2023.
, is a well-known Australian street artist, freelance illustrator, muralist, published author, and designer of the popular Mulga product range. His distinctive Australian artworks, characterised by intricate line work and vibrant colours, adorn walls and items worldwide. After showcasing his first art exhibition and launching his art career in 2012, he was able to quit his finance job two years later. Since then, he has collaborated with major global brands such as Coca Cola, Samsung, Adidas and Tik Tok. Mulga has painted over 90 murals in Australian schools and regularly visits schools to run workshops inspiring the next generation of artists.
