Embark on a rare and immersive journey into Buddhist wisdom with Prof. Georgios Halkias, an eminent scholar and Director of the Centre of Buddhist Studies at the University of Hong Kong.

Across four sessions, Prof. Halkias will guide participants through the richness of Buddhist visual culture, lay practice, and foundational Mahāyāna teachings.
This series blends history, philosophy, and practice—richly illustrated with sutra readings, visual representations, and insights from the Buddhist tradition.

Perfect for beginners and experienced practitioners alike, this program offers a deep and accessible way to understand how Buddhist ideas and practices have shaped the path to awakening.

🔹 Topic 1: Forms of the Formless
Explore the story of Buddhism through its visual representations—icons, symbols, and sacred imagery that shaped spiritual understanding across centuries.

🔹 Topic 2: No Robes Required—The Lay Bodhisattva’s Guide to Enlightenment
Dive into the Vimalakīrti Sūtra through live readings and discussion. Discover how lay practitioners embody wisdom and compassion without monastic ordination.

🔹 Topic 3: Foundational Practices of Mahāyāna Buddhism — Part I
Understand the essential practices that form the basis of the bodhisattva path.

Prof. Georgios Halkias is a leading scholar of Tibetan and Himalayan Buddhism and the Director of the Centre of Buddhist Studies at the University of Hong Kong.
