Mastering your body movement is key to your dancing! It is absolutely everywhere even in your basic steps (if you want to have great basic steps that is :) There's a lot to learn and absorb in a dance class: connection, steps, patterns, rhythms, dance technique for lead and follow etc.
That's why you should train specific body movements in body conditioning classes, like this one, so you can focus on your dance technique and all other things in dance classes.
To master your body movement and lead someone in a body motion, you have to build up your body/mind connection, and get strength and flexibility in multiple areas.
We will work on spine articulation, hip and ribcage motion (flexion, extension, lateral flexion) that will help with your general basic movement, body rolls, side waves, chest isolations and more.
This training is key to softening and expanding your movement range, and becoming a clearer leader and/or a more responsive and light follower.
Gentlemen don't shy away from it. To lead body movement you need to move your own body, I will keep on repeating it until it sinks in lol
This workshop suits all levels of dancers. We all have something to work on and progress to make.
