Universal Credit and Vulnerable People: The Tricky Bits Training

The Frontline Network are delighted to offer, through our Outsourced Training Programme, Universal Credit and Vulnerable People: The Tricky Bits training session delivered by BGPS.

Please be aware this session is exclusively offered to frontline workers who support people experiencing homelessness and are based in the United Kingdom. If this criteria does not apply to your circumstances you will not be able to attend this event.

About this event

Homeless claimants are twice as likely to be sanctioned and have their benefits cut which can lead directly to people who are homeless dropping out of the system. This course looks at how to negotiate the ‘tricky bits’ in UC that often result in client’s benefit being stopped and covers:-

• How to claim for people with complex needs
• Getting the right Claimant Commitment
• Challenging sanctions
• Alternative Payment Arrangements
• Third Party Deductions
• Managed Migration

Essential for anyone who supports clients who are dependent on welfare benefits.

Who Can Attend

This training opportunity if open to frontline workers who are based in the United Kingdom in positions supporting people experiencing homelessness.

All attending must register with their work email address for us to verify the above criteria. Registering using a personal email address will mean your ticket will be returned.

How will it be delivered?

This half-day course is free of charge to frontline workers resident in the UK who support people experiencing homelessness.

Start time will be 9.30am and finish is at 12.30pm. Please sign on around 10 minutes ahead of event in order for timely start.

You will receive joining links and any course materials at least the day ahead of training.

You will need access to a computer to attend. Sessions will be delivered via Zoom.

The Frontline Network are working with Brett Grellier Psychology Services (BPGS) as a training provider to offer Universal Credit and Vulnerable People: The Tricky Bits on 10/12/2024. Our trainer requires a list of all attendees to be able to send pre and post training resource materials. We require your consent for us to provide these details to the training provider, where they are a third party organisation and where we hold your data via our registration portal. Please note, your details will only be used for this training course – you will not be contacted for any other purpose by the trainer.
