Unearth a Story: Fort Negley
About this Event
Join us as we unearth the stories of enslaved and free African-American men and women who built and defended Fort Negley, the largest inland stone fort built during the Civil War. The fort is Nashville’s only UNESCO-designated Site of Memory (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).
Hear from a descendant of the space, and the professor working with her to discover all that had been buried. Featuring guest speakers Jeneene Blackman and Dr. Angela Sutton.
