Taylor Street Art and Books @100TSAB and Bearded Iris @beardediris are proud to feature a Nashville original for July's book club.
Red Clay by Charles B. Fancher. Inspired by the author's own family history, this multigenerational saga follows an enslaved family and their white owners through the final months of the Civil War, Reconstruction, and the long shadow of Jim Crow. Fancher began his journalism career right here in Nashville at WSM-TV before becoming an award-winning documentary filmmaker — and that Southern soul runs through every page.
This one is going to spark a real conversation. Come ready to talk, or just come ready to listen. Either is fine with us.
Tuesday, July 7 at 7PM
Bearded Iris Brewery — 100 Taylor Street, Nashville
Free admission. All are welcome.
Did not buy the book from us? No problem. Did not read the book? Still no problem. Just come hang out.
