About this Event
The Illinois Gives Tax Credit Act took effect January 1, 2025. This new law provides a 25% State of Illinois tax credit to donors who give to endowed funds at community foundations across Illinois that are in compliance with National Standards.
How does this legislation impact our local community? What are the opportunities for individual charities? What can nonprofits do to communicate those opportunities and related benefits with their donors? In this session, Shari Fox of Fox Philanthropic Advisors will share a comprehensive overview of the Illinois Gives Tax Credit Act and discuss the benefits of this legislation for individual donors giving to endowed funds. We will also share tips on simple ways to integrate messages about the tax credit act benefits with existing communications. By the end of our time together, participants will have a solid understanding of this new legislation and concrete ways to message this information through their communication channels.
