About this Event
In a world where trans and queer individuals are too often met with hostility in the name of religion, Community United Church of Christ is creating a sanctuary for peace, love, and reconciliation.
Join us for the 8th Queering Faith event featuring Rev. Malcolm Himschoot—a writer, minister, and educator whose story of resilience and liberation was captured in the 2005 documentary . Rev. Himschoot will deliver a keynote address exploring themes from his upcoming book, Reading Secrets - A Queer Inheritance of Life and Scripture (expected spring 2025). Through this theo-poetic response to authoritarianism, Rev. Himschoot seeks to undo the deep harm caused by authoritarian violence in family, culture, and religion.

History of the Event
Since 2018, UCC Campus Ministry has partnered with Community United Church of Christ to offer Queering Faith, an annual event showcasing writers, artists, activists, and people of faith who share their experiences and offer inspiration for living out their faith through a queer perspective, whether that is their own sexuality, gender identity, their art, their community, or their call to service.
Let’s gather to reimagine faith as a force for healing and justice!
