Understanding Self-Care Workshop (2 half days) Friday 3rd and 10th July
About this Event
Join Me on this Self-Care Workshop
What is different about this workshop to other self-care workshops
This workshop is designed to support you to gain deeper understanding of why you may find self-care difficult to incorporate and/or maintain into your daily life.
Gaining knowledge and understanding through psychoeducation of how and why this may be difficult, will allow you to gain confidence and incorporate self-care that feels right for you. This may be different to what others do or what the internet/books tell you. We are all unique individuals and so our needs will differ.
Setting this out as a group workshop, will allow you to gain thoughts from others that may resonate with yourself, that you may not already be aware of. It also supports you to understand that you are not alone when it comes to struggling with self-care.
What is psychoeducation?
Psychoeducation is structured, theoretical understanding of mental health.
The aim of the psychoeducation being provided throughout this workshop is to empower you with understanding of what may be holding you back from applying self-care, allowing you to:
· Apply self-care that works for you.
· Feel calmer and more grounded to make informed choices that align with your own beliefs.
Why over 2 half days and not 1 whole day?
Learning to understand your inner self can be uncomfortable for some, and it is for this reason that I have decided to present the workshop over 2 mornings 1week apart, allowing people to process whatever they need to in the days between.

How we work together
As an experienced counsellor in private practice I am aware that counselling/talking therapy is not for everyone. However, people still want to make changes for themselves, take care of themselves more, but can find this difficult to start or maintain.
Writing up this event, I sat outside in my garden. I am fortunate to be surround by hills, trees and nature at its finest. This is a part of my self-care. Having a timeout from the screen, I sat back in my chair, taking in all that is around me. Self-care does not need to cost financially, even if you don’t have a garden, there will be somewhere nearby where you can connect with nature.
