About this Event
During our undergraduate open day, our staff and students come together to showcase the St George’s experience. In addition to being an excellent opportunity to find out about our specialist undergraduate health degrees, our open days are structured to help you discover what it means to study at a university co-located with a hospital.
What happens on the day?
When you arrive, you will be greeted by our friendly student ambassadors who will complete your registration.
Planning Your Visit
To ensure you make the most of your visit, we'll send all registered guests a programme of activities and talks three weeks before the event to help you best plan your day.
Course Presentations
Our course presentations will be delivered by our course teams. Many of our degrees are taught by clinicians, scientists and allied health professionals who work on the front-line, so these presentations give you a chance to learn about the subjects that interest you and to hear first-hand their thoughts on building a career in science and health.
Interactive Sessions
You will have the opportunity to sign up for interactive sessions, delivered by our course teams and students. You will have the opportunity to see demonstrations of our specialist facilities or have the opportunity to get involved in an activity related to your course of interest.
Accommodation & Campus Tours
Our open day campus tours give you the chance to view a range of unique spaces and facilities, from our recently refurbished Students’ Union to the laboratories and the clinical cubicles used to teach and test our students, and our dedicated anatomage facilities, which gives students a firm grounding in anatomy. You can also take a look around our university-owned residences, Horton Halls, as part of an accommodation tour and see what it’s like to live away from home.
Undergraduate Student Panel Discussion
You are also welcome to attend an undergraduate student panel discussion, during which our current students will answer any questions you may have about life at St George’s.

Frequently asked questions
When can I sign up for activities or demonstrations?
Registrants will be contacted three-weeks prior to the open day with guidance on how to sign up for activities and demonstrations. Please note that there will be limited spaces for these sessions and these will only be available to prospective students (some sessions may be open to parents and supporters – this will be made clear in the information provided).
How early should I arrive?
Our open days can get very busy, so we suggest arriving at least 30-45 minutes before your first talk to reduce the time you need to wait in a registration queue. You can make the most of this time by attending a campus tour once you have registered.
How many people can I bring?
Our open days are heavily subscribed and we request that you only bring one additional guest to our open day, to make sure we can give everybody a chance to find out more about our courses we do ask that you bring no more than one guest into each course-specific talk.
Can I attend more than one course-specific talk?
You are very welcome to attend different course-specific talks. When completing the booking form, we would appreciate it if you would indicate the course you are primarily interested in finding out more about. The schedule for the event will be made available to registrants three-weeks prior to this event.
What if I have accessibility needs?
Our site is wheelchair friendly, with lifts, accessible toilets and ground-level seating in lecture theatres. If you have access needs, you will be invited to share this with us when you book your place on the open day – the events team may reach out to you via email regarding arrangements for your visit.
Is there parking available?
