Music is universal, entertaining and tells a story. We will share Black History through musical performances. The Umoja Grammy Awards is an “all age group” event. It’s an opportunity to have fun and educate our community through music about Black History. I encourage you to select a song that you will perform via lip sync (choreography with the music track), Karaoke (actual singing) or live act. Costumes are required so start planning now. Acts can be groups, an individual or a Black History reenactment presentation. All songs must have the “clean version” and a significance to Black History. We will use disclaimers for each song. There will be a scheduled dress rehearsal. It is free and open to the public. It's a Grammy level event.
