UMass Chan Medical School employees and students are asked to bring nonperishable food items to campus on Friday, Nov. 15, and fill the patrol cars that will be parked near the new education and research building. Donations, which will be collected between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., will go to Veterans Inc. and Why Me & Sherry's House.
Each school will be assigned a police cruiser. A pizza party will be thrown for the group that collects the highest weight of items.
The UMass Chan Department of Public Safety, Worcester Police, Shrewsbury Police and Massachusetts State Police are all participating in the stuff-a-cruiser event.
