UKFin+ 2026 Research Showcase

UKFin+ invites you to participate in our 2026 Research Showcase in Edinburgh, Scotland, on the 4th December.

The UKFin+ mission is to bridge the gap that currently exists between the research in universities and the needs of the financial services industry, its consumers and regulators. We work with industry, regulators and non-profits to define challenges, to connect them to academics and researchers, and to co-define projects that address these. UKFin+ is especially focused on enabling research that addresses the wicked problems of financial services and digital technologies – where problems are complex and interdependent, resist singular solutions, and where more research is needed to understand and address them.

At this year’s showcase we will be running a series of Wicked Conversations – workshop sessions on focused topics where the goal is to surface ideas for future projects and priorities for research and industry related to financial services and digital technology. The ambition is to shape what’s next after UKFin+ once our network’s funded period ends in 2027 - building on our existing UKFin+ Research Agenda.

As well as the Wicked Conversations, we will sharing outcomes and emergent insights from the 33 projects UKFin+ has funded since September 2023, and also have two exciting keynotes on projects where researchers, industry and policymakers have already been collaborating to address two of the most wicked problems of finance: financial inclusion and helping the sector to cope with game-changing technologies like Quantum Computing.

Throughout the day, there will be ample time for networking and make connections between participants.

Lunch and tea breaks are included free of charge to all attendees.

Up to 20 travel and subsistence bursaries of up to £200 are available for early career researchers on a first come, first served basis. Early career status is normally up to 8 years from PhD, longer to account for career breaks. Proof of early career status is not required.
