UIRA Wine Tasting

The University of Idaho Retirees Association (UIRA) invites members to an evening of fine wine at Vine, a local wine bar and retailer in Moscow, on Saturday, February 8th at 5:00 PM. The event will feature premium wines from Clearwater Canyon Cellars in Lewiston, accompanied by a presentation from owners and UI alumni, Coco and Karl Umiker. They will share insights into their award-winning winery and the unique terroir of the Lewis-Clark Valley American Viticulture Area.

Vine, located at 618 S. Main St., recently celebrated its fifth anniversary. Clearwater Canyon Cellars, known for its medal-winning wines crafted by winemaker Coco Umiker and vineyard manager Karl Umiker, marked its 20th anniversary in 2024. Coco holds a doctorate in wine microbiology from Washington State University, while Karl brings his expertise as a UI soil scientist to the vineyard.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the event. UIRA encourages attendees to consider a donation to support its scholarship endowment for current UI students. This event follows the Vandal men's basketball game against the Sacramento State Hornets, scheduled for 2:00 PM in the ICCU Arena.
