Ubiquity is a group of multimedia textile work from a collective of artists that asks you to reconceptualize fiber art and textile making as more than its most utilitarian and ubiquitous form, and challenged artists to think of ways that fiber interacts with other mediums that surprise and delight. The result was a body of work that interprets how fiber can exist beyond the traditional forms of functional items and blend with an endless range of mediums to challenge the expected form of yarn. The beautifully designed Nook cafe provided the opportunity to integrate the artwork within the environment, truly pushing the viewer to investigate and notice the ways in which the craft of fiber and textiles hide in plain sight, and see the true ubiquity of the craft.
