Join us for Minnesota Takes Action for the Boundary Waters in honor of Public Lands Day and hear from outdoor storyteller and social media advocate extraordinaire Alex Haraus on how you can turn your passion for the outdoors into real-world impact. Alex will inspire attendees of all ages to harness the power of digital platforms—showing how sharing our mission with even three friends can spark a movement.
Through powerful stories of everyday advocates, he’ll explain why your voice matters, share case studies from successful campaigns (including how TikTok drove record participation in public comment periods!), and connect the dots between online action and policy change.
You’ll also hear from Ingrid Lyons on the latest in the fight for the Boundary Waters, what’s at stake right now, and how we can win this fight together. Afterwards, you’ll have a chance to connect with others who share your passion for the outdoors and leave with the tools, knowledge, and inspiration to take action to protect America’s most visited Wilderness.
After the presentation, Alex will host an interactive table where you can get one-on-one tips on using your network and creating engaging videos to raise awareness. Plus, Save the Boundary Waters staff will work with you on how to write and place powerful Letters to the Editor to influence decision-makers and rally public support.
No matter your level of tech know-how, you’ll find ways to get involved that work for you. Whether you love posting online, prefer writing letters, or simply want to engage in conversations within your community, this event will provide tools and strategies for every style of advocacy.
