Back on Track’s first photography beach trip to watch the sun setting over Hayling Island with some stunning coastal and sea views. Includes coach trip.This is your chance to come on a beautiful walk, whilst learning some new photography skills. You may want to use your new skills simply for the pleasure of taking photos, or create some stunning imagery for your facebook or instagram feed. The walk is suitable for hiking beginners as its an easy 6km walking trail.
We follow the linear Billy Trail, but we’ll also walk across the beaches to explore waves and water reflections with our cameras, all perfect subjects to learn how to take stunning photographs with a simple Apple I-phone or Android *. Richard, will demonstrate some practical tutorials ,and share with you his professional photography tricks and tips on how to capture the autumn scenery with your camera to create ‘wow’ imageries.
The stunning scenery in this walk include beautiful flora, open skies, sand banks and coastal views plus lots of wildlife including, several species of seabirds, potential sightings of seals and active Oyster beds. Even on windier days, you can see kites flying through the sky and waves crashing along the shores. Join us for a windswept evening along the shore, in the comfort of travelleing to and from the island by bus.
This is a collaboration between Simone from Back on Track and Richard Symonds.
Richard has been a professional wildlife artist and photographer for over 30 years and has always used his photography as a tool to capture the diverse wildlife and landscape for his paintings.
He has travelled from Antarctica to the Arctic with many trips to Africa in between, however is just as happy photographing the beautiful countryside and wildlife around his home in Surrey.

Parking: Use the 2nd car park further along, passing the Godalming Leisure Centre. Alternative alongside Summers Road.
Suitability:
Easy walk. Social paced walk with fairly flat terrain, plus sandy beaches. The end of the walk may be around sunset, with less visibility.
Photography: Suitable for Beginners and all hobby enthusiasts. No experience needed.
Duration: 4.5h; 1h travel each way, plus 2h walk with photography stops along the way
Dogs sadly not allowed on the bus.

– Bus transfer from Godalming (Broadwater Lake) near Guildford meeting point to Hayling Island and return
What’s not included:
– Tutorials on any manual cameras
– No food or drinks are provided
What to Bring:
*Your I-phone or any Android mobile phone!
– Suitable footwear/waterproofs. Light/windproof layers of clothes. Sunscreen/Sunhat/sunglasses
– Umbrella if its raining (for you and the camera)
– Drink, snack, money for cafe
– Head torches.
Note: There are no toilet facilities along the route apart from the start at the Pub and at the end of the path.
