Join us at Godalming Library for an afternoon with local author Alan Smith as he talks about his book Balchen's Victory.
The session will end with some audience questions and a book signing.

About Alan Smith:
Alan Smith spent some years with the Geest Line, which operated cargo ships between the UK and caribbean, before becoming an international shipping journalist: later becoming a director of corporate communications. Since 2016 he has been a volunteer at the National Museum of the Royal Navy in Portsmouth as a guide on Nelson's HMS victory and an historical researcher for the Diving Deep: HMS Invincible Project. Alan has a Master's degree in Naval History from the University of Portsmouth.
