Turn your grandparent into an AI wizard

Here's a lovely thing you can set up in five minutes: bring your child and their grandparent to build with AI, together. One relaxed afternoon, side by side, sharing a laptop, walking out with something they made. Built with the Ningpo Guild for absolute beginners, it's the rare screen time that brings the generations closer instead of pulling them apart.

Coming on your own? You're just as welcome, the same hands-on afternoon, at your own pace, no pair required.

Talking grandma or grandpa into it? Just tell them: if you can use WhatsApp, you're ready.

What you'll make and take home the same day

• A bilingual storybook. Turn one Chinese character into an illustrated English-and-Mandarin story, a keepsake to make side by side or on your own.
• Your own AI helper. A simple assistant that drafts messages and answers everyday questions. No CPF, no salary, works 24/7.

Event details

• When: Saturday, 1 August 2026, 11am–3pm. Drop off at 11 and collect at 3, with a sponsored hot lunch in the middle.
• Where: Ningpo Guild Singapore, 43 Wilkie Road, Singapore 228056 - a 5–7 min walk from Bras Basah / Bencoolen MRT (10–15 min from Dhoby Ghaut & Bugis).
• Bring: a laptop (pairs share one; solo guests bring their own), its charger, and a free Google account. It's hands-on, so a laptop beats a phone or tablet and the AI tool we use (Google Gemini) is free.

Good to know

• Absolute beginners welcome. If you can type on WhatsApp and open a browser, you're ready. Taught fully bilingually in English and Mandarin, at a comfortable pace.
• Come as a pair or on your own. Grandparent and grandchild share one laptop and build together; solo adults get their own seat and laptop. Children aged 10 and up are welcome with an accompanying adult.
• Small group, plenty of help. A lead trainer and floor assistants on hand, plus a hot lunch together in the middle.
• Trusted hands. Run by Empire AI - teaching hands-on tech since 2016, featured in Lianhe Zaobao together with the Ningpo Guild.
