Turkey's English Language Media Strategies

The Europe and Eurasia Focus Area of the School of Advanced International Studies invites you to join us for lunch and a discussion on Turkey's English langauge media strategies hosted by Professor Matthias Matthijs. This event will take place in room 222 at 555 Penn Ave. Professor Bilge Yesil will explain how Turkey uses English language media to advance its geopolitical goals.

Bilge Yesil is a Professor of Media Culture at the College of Staten Island and an affiliate faculty member in Middle Eastern Studies at the CUNY Graduate Center. Dr. Yesil’s research expertise encompasses global media and communication, media in authoritarian systems, surveillance, ownership and regulation. She is the author of (2009), (2016), and (2024), and a co-editor of (2023).
