TUES Winemaker Tasting! - James Hall of Patz & Hall - Winemaker Emeritus!

Holly & Off The Vine are absolutely thrilled to have James Hall, Co-Founder & Winemaker Emeritus of Sonoma Valley's Patz & Hall Winery join us for a Winemaker Tasting to offer us insight and a great selection of Patz & Hall wines, as he explains the amazing process of starting, building and excelling in what must be the most competitive wine growing region in California, all without their own estate vineyards, but very close relationships with their vineyard producers & internal winemaker team.

• Founding: The winery was founded by James Hall, Donald Patz, Anne Moses, and Heather Patz. The partners previously worked together at Flora Springs Winery and aimed to apply traditional Burgundian techniques to fruit from elite, small vineyards.
• Re-Independence: In 2024, founding winemaker James Hall and his partners bought back the winery from corporate owner Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, returning it to its roots as a privately owned, family-run operation.
• Focus: One of a few wineries in California focused solely on two varietals, using traditional and cutting-edge methods like a custom barrel program to express specific site terroir. The winery offers a comprehensive collection of single-vineyard bottlings, allowing enthusiasts to taste the distinct character and terroir of over 20 unique vineyard sites in a single portfolio * we will NOT be tasting all 20!

One of Holly's favorite & formative experiences is meeting James while attending Pinot Forum, a limited annual week event hosted by Pinot producers where attendees get hands on experience with every aspect from striation in the vineyard soil, vines, clones & canopy, and of course tasting, lots of tasting.... Delighted to introduce you to him tonight!

We will serve six bottlings from across the winery's Chardonnay & Pinots, charcuterie served family-style with light snack and great conversations! 7 - 9:00 PM $ 75 + tax pp
