Tucson Heritage Dishes: Capirotada by Chef Devon Sanner
About this Event
Join Tucson City of Gastronomy and the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona Farmers Market for a special Resilience Kitchen pop-up cooking demonstration and tasting featuring Tucson City of Gastronomy Chef Ambassador Devon Sanner.
Chef Devon will prepare Sonoran-style capirotada, one of the dishes highlighted through our Tucson Heritage Dishes Project, while sharing the history and food traditions connected to the dish. Guests can stop by, watch the preparation, and enjoy a complimentary tasting!
This collaboration also connects Tucson’s culinary heritage with the farmers and food producers sustaining our local food system today. The demonstration will incorporate seasonal ingredients available at the market, giving guests inspiration for using locally grown foods at home.
Come for the tasting and stay to shop the Farmers Market! Support local growers and food vendors by exploring fresh produce, tortillas, honey, mushrooms, baked goods, salsas, beverages, and more available directly from participating vendors.
