Tucked in Memory - A Kinusaiga Art Experience
Some memories live in photographs. Some in places, objects, or little pieces of things we simply cannot bear to throw away.
Tucked in Memory is a cosy Kinusaiga art experience centred around remembrance of a person, a place, a season of life, or simply a moment that means something to you.
Kinusaiga is a Japanese-inspired textile art technique where pieces of fabric are carefully tucked into grooves to form a beautiful textured artwork and no sewing required.
Choose from a selection of prepared designs, play with colours and fabrics, and slowly build your own Kinusaiga artwork, finished in a wooden display frame ready to bring home.
Make it personal
Fabrics will be provided, but you're also welcome to bring a small piece of your own meaningful fabric.
It could be from an old piece of clothing, a favourite print, fabric from a special occasion, or simply something that brings back a memory.
Just make sure it's something you're comfortable cutting and incorporating permanently into your artwork.
What’s included
Your ticket includes all art materials, your choice of prepared design, use of tools, a wooden display frame, one drink, and a guided 3-hour Kinusaiga experience.
No art experience is needed, just come, choose your fabrics and create at your own pace.
With only 8 participants, the session is intentionally kept small and cosy, allowing plenty of time for individual guidance.
At the end of the session, participants are welcome to share the story or memory behind their artwork, if they wish. Sharing is completely optional. You may also simply create, reflect and enjoy the experience in your own way.
