Trestle Bridge Poetry Reading Series - Featuring Kit Roffey

It's National Poetry Month, and what better way to celebrate than with a brand new poetry reading series? Poets, poetry-lovers, and the poetry-curious, be welcome!

Trestle Bridge brings together voices from across generations and geographies to share and inspire each other. Whether you’re coming to share a poem during the open mic, or enjoy the performance of our featured poet, we invite you to cross the bridge into a world of beautiful words. 🌉

For our inaugural session, we will be featuring local poet (they/them)!

🌱 Where: St. Thomas-Elgin Public Art Centre (STEPAC), 301 Talbot Street, St. Thomas ON

🌱 When: April 17th, 6-8PM; recurrently on the 3rd Friday of every month

🌱 What: Doors open 6PM (sign up for Open Mic begins); Open Mic from 6:30-7PM; Featured Artist & Social from 7-8PM

🌱 Cost: Free to attend

🌱 Age range: Trestle Bridge is open to all ages, but we advise parents to use their discretion. Poems may be in the PG-13 range.

Info: There will be 10 slots for the open mic, with a maximum of 3 minutes of reading per poet. Sign up begins at 6pm, so get in early if you want a spot!

Info: Kit Roffey is a queer, non binary, and disabled writer and artist based out of London, Ontario. Their work often explores the themes of disability, grief, and queerness in relation to the natural sphere. Their work has appeared in Vallum, Event, Grain, and Touch The Donkey among other publications. Their first chapbook “Civilian of Dirt” came out in 2023 with 845 Press. Their newest work “Body Thought” is out now with Anstruther Press.
