Trees & Bushes – Pruning: Why, When & How

PROGRAM: The presentation, led by one of our very own Hort Members, will cover the ornamental pruning of trees & shrubs. Why is it needed? When is the best time to prune? How should one prune – tools needed, cuts to make, how much to remove, etc. She will also demonstrate pruning on some shrubs & answer questions.

SPEAKER BIO: Jean is a retired Massachusetts Certified Arborist with 20 years of experience working in the horticultural industry and running her own gardening business. She retired after 20 years in public relations and non-profit development by attending North Shore Community College and obtaining an associate degree in Horticulture. She is currently on the Newburyport Tree Commission and is a board member of the Friends of Newburyport Trees.
Free for Hort Members to Attend, $40 to sign up to become a member for the year, or $10 guest fee for day of.
