About this Event

Join us to celebrate another fantastic Plymouth Urban Tree Festival on the first day, Saturday 9th May, at Snapdragons, off Victoria Park.

We are asking for a minimum of £5 donation either when you register or on arrival. Kids free!

Trees and people come together with folk music and storytelling so what's on?

  • Kids are welcome to get involved in an amazing bio-sonification workshop with Martin from Revolutionary Biscuit - making music with plants. Watch what he can do here: https://www.facebook.com/reel/795016443678711
  • Devon-based Wren Music who have since 1983 have used folk arts to empower people from all backgrounds to make music and feel part of the community. They are bringing their drums for a drumming workshop!
  • One of last year's stand-out performers, incredible folk musician and singer - Ralph Nel.
  • The Plymouth Climate Choir
  • Abigail Hope - @treefolksing on Instagram will be leading a singing workshop
  • And last but not least, grab and cider or a juice and enjoy grassroots contemporary Cornish folk musicians Trea who we are delighted will be joining us.

There will also be..

  • A printing workshop with West Devon Art Workshops
  • Create clay Tree Guardians with Lizzie Elliot-Klein, using natural materials and write Love Letters to Trees in this drop-in creative activity for all ages. A gentle invitation to slow down, connect with urban trees, and express appreciation for the natural world.
  • Forest school activities with Plymouth Tree People Trustee, Dave Curno

In order to properly celebrate trees we will also have cider and apple juice to purchase. You are also encouraged to bring your own drinks. There will also be pasties and cakes for sale.

This event will kick off at 1.30pm with music on all afternoon and evening. We aim to be finished by 8pm.

All welcome! Tell your friends!

Snapdragons is at the east end of Victoria Park at What 3 Words: vote.scores.cheese

Snapdragons is a no smoking site and do not allow dogs.

The Plymouth Urban Tree Festival is sponsored by the Plymouth and South Devon Community Forest.
