Enjoy the Atlanta Beltline Arboretum with a Trees Atlanta Docent to learn about the trail and enjoy fresh air, new city views, and fascinating Atlanta history. This tour explores the Southwest Trail with a strong focus on the horticultural collections and interesting facts about these different segments of the Arboretum.About the Guide: Max Watkins is a resident of Sandy Springs who enjoys knitting, biking, and exploring new parks during her free time. She loves sharing her passion for Atlanta’s trees with others. She is an experienced tour leader of both the Atlanta Beltline Arboretum trail and Trees Atlanta’s Kendeda TreeHouse Campus.
About the Atlanta Beltline Arboretum: The Atlanta Beltline Arboretum currently has 9,000 accessioned plants in its collection, with 369 unique tree and shrub species and cultivars. Eighty-eight genera of trees and shrubs are represented and identified with permanent signage. Additionally, over 500,000 non-accessioned live grasses, vines, and wildflowers have been planted within the Arboretum since 2013, along with 1,600 pounds of seeds of native plants sown in the meadow spaces.
