Tree Planting at Rock Ledge Spring (Sept. 9)
About this Event
What we’re doing
We will be planting trees and shrubs in the areas around the spring where we have removed Arundo (giant reed). There may still be a few Arundo stalks to remove as well, but our main focus will be planting native plants, building cages for them to protect them from hungry rabbits, and giving them their first drinks of water.
Volunteer Agreement
We have a new online Volunteer Agreement. If you haven’t signed since April 2025, please sign now (even if you did one in a previous year).
When to Meet
6:30 a.m. — we will stop when it gets too hot or people are too tired, or when we get all the plants planted!
Where to Meet
- Enter at the Sabino Springs Gate House (9997 E Snyder Road) and tell them you’re here for a service project with Sky Island Alliance and the Sabino Springs HOA.
- Continue straight and take a left turn when the road hits a T.
- Continue past the Arizona National Golf Course and park along this road (to the west of the bridge).
- Walk over the bridge to the East, through the vehicle gate, and meet us where the water is flowing! (here)
