About this Event
This transformative training is designed for yoga teachers, therapists, healthcare professionals, first responders, educators, and anyone supporting trauma recovery.
Grounded in both ancient yogic wisdom and cutting-edge neuroscience, this 30-hour module explores how trauma impacts the mind, body, and spirit, and how yoga offers powerful tools for healing. You’ll gain a deep understanding of the nervous system, the brain’s response to trauma, and modern frameworks such as Polyvagal Theory and epigenetics.
Through discussion, lecture, and experiential practice, we’ll examine how to apply trauma-sensitive language, somatic tools, breathwork, and contemplative practices to create safer, more inclusive spaces. We’ll also study trauma-relevant teachings from the Yoga Sutras, including the eight-limbed path and the concept of befriending the whole self.
Whether you’re teaching public classes, working one-on-one, or supporting clients in other fields, this training will leave you empowered to integrate trauma-informed principles into your work with greater confidence, compassion, and clarity.
Program Highlights:– In-depth study of trauma’s impact on the nervous system– Yogic tools for safety, grounding, and regulation– Breathwork, affirmation, and contemplative practices– Trauma-informed use of the Yoga Sutras– Language and methodology for inclusive, supportive teaching– Case studies, self-care strategies, and clinical insights
