Trauma-Informed PEACE Investigative Interviewing of Cooperative and Uncooperative Interviewees
This five-day course is designed for professional investigators involved in workplace, regulatory, and corporate investigations. The program builds on the PEACE framework for investigative interviewing and includes science-based components such as cognitive interviewing, conversation management, the strategic use of evidence, motivational interviewing, and the Orbit model. Participants will learn the underlying scientific principles of a trauma-informed approach and gain practical experience from planning and conducting realistic scenario interviews. By course end, each student will have increased competence and confidence by listening, watching, doing, and teaching.
Course Details
Duration: 5 days
Hours: 7 hours per day (35 hours total)
Format: In-person, small group training
Maximum Participants: 5 (to allow intensive practice and feedback)
Cost: CAD $1,500.00 plus GST per participant
Expected Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, participants will have:
• a strong working knowledge of the Trauma-Informed PEACE Framework for both cooperative and uncooperative interviewees.
• practical trauma-informed interviewing skills.
• tools for maximizing memory retrieval.
• confidence in applying ethical and defensible interviewing practices.
QTiPP Designation (Qualified Trauma-Informed PEACE Practitioner):
Participants will be assessed on their class participation, scenario interviews, and written exam. Those scoring 80% or higher will receive a certificate qualifying them as a Trauma-informed PEACE Practitioner.
