Trash People x Chicago White Sox: Cleanup + Ball Game!!
About this Event
PLAY BALL! Join us for a weekday community clean-up in Bridgeport! We'll start at Armour Square Park (the Fieldhouse) and hunt down trash for about an hour! "And then what?", you may ask... Well, then we're taking you out to the ballgame! As soon as we wrap up, we're going straight to Sox Park (not calling it Rate Field - sorry) to catch the White Sox take on the Texas Rangers. For FREE! That's right - join us for the clean-up and get a free ticket for the game! Also: It'll be a $5 Tuesday! So drinks (sodas and brews!) and snacks (pizza, nachos, popcorn!) will be just five bucks! What a steal!
We'll also have a limited number of free tickets for folks who can't attend the clean-up! Those are sure to disappear quickly, so don't strike out...register now!
What to expect:
- Meet us at the Armour Square Park Fieldhouse no later than 5:30pm! We're serious! We will start immediately and quickly distribute materials and go over the gameplan (routes, safety, etc.)
- We will head out and scour the streets in the area for just under an hour, meet back up for a group photo and then saunter over to Sox Park for the game!
- Tickets will be distributed on the day of the event! It'll be helpful to download the MLB App (iOS or Android) ahead of time to ensure there are no snags!

What to bring
- Please check the weather and bring appropriate clothing/supplies - specifically you may like to bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and hand sanitizer. Be sure to wear comfortable and weather-appropriate shoes.
- Keep in mind that Sox Park has a pretty strict bag policy. Make sure you only bring the essentials (or leave your stuff in your car if you end up driving). Check out the bag policy here.
- No need to bring anything else - we supply all equipment (bags, gloves, grabbers, etc.)
- If you want to bring a friend, please also have them register via the Eventbrite link so we can plan accordingly - we also need all attendees to acknowledge our waiver.
What not to bring
- We love pets, but you'll need both hands, and we'll be working near busy streets! We regret dogs aren't allowed to join Trash People events, but you're very welcome to show us pictures :)
- We mostly work near busy roads, so for safety reasons, our events are adult-only (18+).
- If the event is fully booked, please add yourself to the waitlist or join us for the next one! In order to keep the group manageable for us as organizers, to ensure we have enough supplies, and to ensure all participants have signed our waiver, we require all attendees to have formally RSVPd through Eventbrite.
