About this Event
Join Posthuman & Angel of the Bottomless Pit for a night of special night of Chilled Electronica, IDM, & Ambient House
On May 27, the relentless energy of the warehouse gives way to the deep, atmospheric realms of the "chill room." J+J Guillotine Services, the collaborative project from Joshu Doherty (Posthuman/Balkan Vinyl) and Jason Clark (Transmit/Angel of the Bottomless Pit), is taking over for an exclusive night of downtempo, ambient, IDM, and chilled electronica.
Join us for a masterclass in the "leftfield" side of electronic music from two veterans who helped build the foundations of the underground.
Their first track was "The Path of Totality", with Josh's mix available exclusively on the Hellhouse 2025 vinyl record, and Jason's mix on his latest album "Dorje".
Joshu Doherty (Glasgow, UK)
A true titan of the UK scene, Joshu Doherty is one half of the legendary duo Posthuman. Emerging from the early 2000s London IDM circuit, Doherty has been a shapeshifter of sound for over two decades.
The Architect of Acid: As the founder of the Balkan Vinyl label and the award-winning I Love Acid global club night, he is widely regarded as one of the primary guardians of the 303 sound.
From hosting near-mythical parties in abandoned London tube stations to his releases on iconic imprints like Skam Records, Doherty’s influence spans from peak-time techno to IDM, downtempo and ambient.
On this night, Joshu strips away the jacking percussion to explore the intricate, melodic textures that defined his early IDM and ambient works, and more recent release "The Mind is a Heavy Burden".
Jason Clark (USA)
A mainstay of the Midwest underground since the 90s, Jason Clark is a polymath of electronic production and promotion.
The Chill Room Specialist: Long before his harder turn as Angel of the Bottomless Pit, Clark owned the chill rooms of the early rave era. Under his Strange Loop moniker and as a member of the downtempo supergroup SKL (Spiritual Krack Laboratory), he perfected the art of immersive, low-tempo journeys.
As a co-founder of TRANSMIT Productions and one of the forces behind the long-running HELLHOUSE series, Clark has been instrumental in bridging the gap between European electronic music and the American scene.
His recent solo work, including the album Plato’s Cave and the 2026 release Dorje, showcases a sophisticated grasp of hardware synthesis, utilizing tools like the Pulsar-23, Devil Fish 303, and ARP 2600 to create haunting, expansive soundscapes.
