Free family-friendly open-air cinema is coming to Saltwater Square, on the doorstep of Belfast Grand Central Station, on Saturday 27 June.
About this Event

Join us on Saturday 27 June as Saltwater Square becomes an open-air cinema for a day of free family-friendly screenings, feel-good films and summer atmosphere in the heart of Belfast.

Taking place on the doorstep of Belfast Grand Central Station, Screenings @ Saltwater is part of Summer @ Saltwater, a new programme of cultural activity bringing one of Belfast’s newest public spaces to life.

Tickets are free, but spaces are limited, so please book in advance to secure your spot.

2pm: Fantastic Mr Fox
5pm: Mamma Mia!

What to expect

Screenings @ Saltwater is a relaxed outdoor cinema event for families, friends and film fans of all ages.

Please note:

• This is an outdoor event, so please dress for the weather and bring an extra layer.
• Deckchairs will be available, but spaces are limited, so we recommend arriving early.
• Free popcorn will be included with each ticket.
• Children must be accompanied by an adult.
• Tickets are free, but booking is required.
• Please book only the number of tickets you need, so as many people as possible can attend.
• The event takes place directly outside Belfast Grand Central Station, making it easy to get to by bus or train.

Charity partner

We’re pleased to have NI Hospice, Translink’s charity partner, joining us during Screenings @ Saltwater.

NI Hospice will be on site and carrying out a collection to support their work across Northern Ireland. If you are coming along to enjoy the screenings, please stop by, say hello and support them where you can.

Info: A clever, quirky family film with plenty of charm. Fantastic Mr Fox brings Roald Dahl’s much-loved story to the big screen, following one fox’s plan to outsmart three farmers and protect his family.

Info: End Saturday on a high with a feel-good musical packed with ABBA classics. Mamma Mia! brings sunshine, sing-along moments and plenty of fun to Saltwater Square.
