About this Event

WeAreClass_ × CULT Belfast feels like a SUPERnatural collaboration.

Both are committed to amplifying underrepresented voices, challenging barriers within the arts, and creating space for meaningful conversations around identity, belonging, and social change. Together, we share a vision of making contemporary art more accessible, inclusive, and reflective of lived experience, using creativity as a tool for connection, community, and cultural dialogue.

WeAreClass are delighted to be involved and to host a panel discussion with CULT artists, exploring their work, their journeys into the art world, and the realities of grafting to build a creative career.

About WeAreClass:

By foregrounding the voices of those often marginalised in traditional art spaces, We Are Class advocates for systemic change, aiming to break down the barriers that have historically excluded working-class talent from fully participating in the cultural sector.

We Are Class will aim to drive conversations about class, identity, and representation in the arts. Their initiatives provide a platform for working-class artists and cultural workers to challenge stereotypes and redefine cultural narrativesWe Are Class is dedicated to amplify the voices and experiences of working-class individuals within the art and cultural sector in Northern Ireland.

We advocate for passionate artists, cultural workers, and organisation who seek to challenge the longstanding barriers for access and representation that working-class communities face in these creative industries.

This is a community-led movement striving for a cultural sector where all voices are heard and celebrated, regardless of class background. At its core, We Are Class is committed to fostering a more inclusive and equitable arts landscape where working-class people not only have the opportunity to participate, but also to lead, innovate, and shape the cultural discourse.

Through a combination of advocacy, and community-driven projects (watch this space!), we strive to create spaces for dialogue, collaboration, and artistic expression that reflect the diverse lived experiences of working-class communities.
