Trail Steward Training Session

Become a Trail Steward!
Do you enjoy spending time on the trails and want to help care for the places you love? Join Foothills Conservancy's new Trail Steward Program!
Trail Stewards serve as our eyes and ears on the ground by visiting a designated trail at least once a month and reporting any maintenance concerns they observe, such as downed trees, erosion, damaged infrastructure, or other trail issues. Trail Stewards help us identify problems early so we can respond quickly and keep our trails safe, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone.
No trail maintenance experience is required. Whether you're an avid hiker, trail runner, mountain biker, or simply enjoy being outdoors, this is a great way to support local conservation and recreation efforts.
All Trail Stewards are required to attend a training session before being assigned a trail. During the training, you'll learn what to look for, how to document and report issues, and how the program supports the long-term stewardship of FCNC's trail network.
Date: June 24
Time: 2-4pm
Where: 204 Avery Ave, Morganton
