Aim’s of the course: To be able to understand an inspection sheet. Set up on remedial action on cycle / MTB trails and record the finding appropriately. Safely supervise a group of Trail workers and Volunteers.
Terrain used: A selection of grades of off road cycle trails.
Course prerequisite: Participants should have some experience of working ‘outdoors’ and have a basic understanding of mountain biking trails and their maintenance.
Key sections covered on this course include:
• An overview of cycle trail construction and remedial actions.
• Developing a safe system of work for cycle trail maintenance operations.
• An overview of the Trail Inspection process.
Will be given a Maintenance Co-ordinator Book and Health and Safety Awareness Book. Through studying the work book and participating in the practical sessions participants will cover the following topics:

Updated for 2024 with the latest thinking from the Visitor Safety in the Countryside Group (VSCG) regarding members of the public Risk Assessments and frequency of inspections.
