Come along to try, play and learn at Ellisland’s Traditional Music Day with free workshops, performances and music sessions! Ellisland Farm is where Burns wrote Auld Lang Syne as well as collecting, sharing and writing Scots song. Keeping Burns’ musical legacy alive, Ellisland Farm is hosting a free traditional music day with something for everyone to get involved with to celebrate and promote traditional music and song in Dumfries and Galloway.
Workshops, performances and talks to include:
• Family-friendly song workshop lead by Claire Hastings
• Come and Try Clarsach workshop and performance lead by The Clarsach Society (Dumfries and Galloway)
• Workshop on Burns, song and Gaelic melodies led by Wendy Stewart and John Howieson
• Burns song performance by Troqueer Primary School Choir
• Tune learning workshop
• Open session
Bring along your ears, voice or instruments and share in our traditional music day at the Home of Auld Lang Syne.
Timings of workshops and performances will be announced.
