What does the workshop cover?
This two day course (29th and 30th May) will take you through each step of making your own lampshade and you will have the skills to continue on to make lots more! You will be supplied with your frame and we will be covering:
Preparing and binding your frame for use
Creating your pattern
Measuring, cutting and fitting your outer fabric
Hand stitching using the lampshade stitch your outer fabric
Fit your hand stitched lining
Create your trims, either through creating bias binding or fitting a ready made trim
Its a great workshop to really understand all the techniques used in traditional lampshade making.
What’s included?
We will supply the lining, thread, needles, binding and frame, please ensure you bring fabric with you.
What you need to bring
On booking you will be given guidance on what fabric to use.
Who the workshop is suitable for
Complete beginner or someone wanting to have a reminder about how to make a lampshade.
Who the workshop is run by
Hayley (the Boo in LilyBoo) who is experienced in making lampshades and will guide you through each step of the process.
Other things you need to know
The course is held upstairs. Once upstairs there is a bathroom and kitchen on the same floor. Refreshments are included, however please bring lunch with you.
