Course Overview:

Launched in Ecosperity Week 2026, Singapore's new technical reference TR 149:2026 sets out a structured pathway for organisations to progress towards environmental sustainability excellence, aimed at giving companies structured guidance to improve their environmental performance.

This practical one-day course gives participants a working understanding of Singapore's TR 149:2026 – Specification for Organisations to Progress towards Environmental Sustainability Excellence – and Carbon Accounting principles.

Course objectives includes:

  1. Hands-on role-play and case studies applying TR 149's governance, operations, supply chain and product life cycle requirements
  2. Organisational maturity assessment exercises benchmarked against TR 149 criteria
  3. Introduction to carbon accounting fundamentals (new!)
  4. Hands-on exercises applying carbon accounting methods to a case organisation
  5. Guidance on how carbon accounting data supports TR 149 and next steps towards sustainability certification

Participants will gain a structured understanding of both TR 149 and foundational carbon accounting practice. They will learn how to apply each within their organisations to strengthen sustainability strategy, operational practice and stakeholder readiness.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

  • All participants are required to have a copy of TR 149:2026 for the course. The standard can be purchased from the Singapore Standards Webstore (https://tinyurl.com/SS-TR149-2026) or, for added convenience, through SMF. The e-copy is available exclusively through SMF at S$54.50 (incl. GST).
  • Participants are required to bring their own laptop for the training exercises and activities.
  • For company-sponsored participants requiring direct invoicing to their organisation, please contact [email protected] for assistance.
