This is the place to get rare and quality ingredients. Your guide from the Kensington Market Community Land Trust (KMCLT) will share tips and tricks for affordable, sustainable, and community-minded shopping.
You’ll meet local vendors, explore seasonal selections, and learn how these small businesses help keep food accessible while resisting the dominance of big-box grocery retailers. Discover connections between local food systems, economic resilience, cultural preservation and community.
This walking tour will highlight raw-food businesses that anchor Kensington Market's communities and illustrate how the KMCLT is working to protect these small businesses from rising commercial rents. Come see where chefs in Toronto source their ingredients!
Tours take place rain or shine, please dress for the weather, bring a waterbottle and wear comfortable shoes. This tour is led in English and includes walking approximately 1-2km. If you require support to be able to fully participate in the tour please let us know so that we can accommodate you!
This tour is one of a series offered through marketcityTO as part of Toronto's Public Markets Week (June 6-13) in partnership with the Kensington Market Community Land Trust and is part of the #ILoveTorontoMarkets campaign.
