About this Event
The International Conservation Fund of Canada (ICFC) protects and restores nature by partnering with local organizations and communities worldwide in regions where biodiversity is richest and most under threat.
Join us for an inspiring evening as we bring together two of our dedicated field partners from different corners of the world for an exclusive in-person event. They’ll share powerful stories and firsthand experiences from the frontlines of conservation, offering unique insights into the challenges and triumphs of protecting nature’s most vital and vulnerable ecosystems.
- Andrew Whitworth, PhD is a National Geographic Explorer and the Executive Director of where he launched the Ridge to Reef Initiative with the goal of restoring forest connectivity across southern Costa Rica to allow wildlife populations to migrate and adapt to the climate crisis.
- Sveva Gallmann and Nigel Adams are Directors of , Kenya’s largest private nature reserve. They hold degrees from Oxford (MSc in Human Sciences for Sveva and MBA for Nigel). Sveva is the daughter of best-selling author and conservationist Kuki Gallmann, whose vision and passion transformed Mukutan’s 36,500 hectares from degraded land, as it was in 1972, into an important wildlife sanctuary. Sveva is dedicated to bridging the gap between generations through the award-winning Four Generations Project, which empowers local communities, especially children, to appreciate their cultural heritage and actively participate in conservation efforts. Nigel has extensive experience in community engagement, business, and conservation. Under their leadership, Mukutan Conservancy has become a model for harmonious coexistence between people, wildlife, and the environment.
