About this Event

Join Tomorrow Bookstore for a spooky literary evening: our Women in Horror event featuring best-selling authors CJ Leede, Delilah S. Dawson, Neena Viel, Jenny Kiefer and Leslie J. Anderson! Featuring special guest moderators, Trang Thanh Tran and Regan Sandberg, and hosted by our friends at Indiana Humanities. Food and drinks will be available to purchase from local vendors Smoking Goose and Shake Up Cocktails.

THE AGENDA

Spooky Book Fair (6-7PM): All six authors will have dedicated tables to meet them, grab a copy of their books, and get books signed.

Being a Woman Writer in the Horror Industry Author Panel (7-8PM): Panel discussion featuring authors Neena Viel (Listen to Your Sister), Jenny Kiefer (Crafting for Sinners), and Leslie J Anderson (The Unmothers). This panel will be moderated by Regan Sandberg (@mew.reviews).

Headline Horror Conversation (8-9PM): An author talk featuring USA Today bestselling author CJ Leede (American Rapture) and Bram Stoker Award nominated author Delilah S. Dawson (House of Idyll). This panel will be moderated by New York Times bestselling author Trang Thanh Tran (They Bloom at Night).

ABOUT THE AUTHORS

CJ Leede (headliner) is a horror writer, hiker, and Trekkie. She is the author of Maeve Fly and American Rapture. Her debut novel Maeve Fly won the Golden Poppy Octavia E. Butler Award and Splatterpunk Award, and earned a Bram Stoker Award nomination. When she is not driving around the country, CJ can be found in LA with her boyfriend and rescue dogs.

Delilah S. Dawson (headliner) is the New York Times-bestselling, award-winning, Stoker-nominated author of novels and comics for all ages, including Star Wars: Phasma, Galaxy's Edge: Black Spire, and Inquisitor: Rise of the Red Blade, plus House of Idyll, Bloom, Guillotine, The Violence, and much more. With Kevin Hearne she writes the Tales of Pell, and as Lila Bowen, she writes the Shadow series, starting with Wake of Vultures. Coming next year, she'll publish Books & Bewitchment, a witchy Romance in the Arcadia Falls series, written as Isla Jewell.

Neena Viel (panelist) is a horror writer who lives in a cabin in the Washingtonian woods with her husband and the best dog on the planet. Her passion for philanthropy (almost) rivals her love for ghost stories. Listen To Your Sister is her debut novel.

Jenny Kiefer (panelist) is a Bram Stoker Nominated horror writer from Louisville, Kentucky. Together with her mother, she owns and operates Butcher Cabin Books, an all-horror bookstore. Her novels include This Wretched Valley and Crafting for Sinners.

Leslie J. Anderson (panelist) is a speculative poetry and fiction writer whose writing has appeared globally. Her debut novel, The Unmothers, won the Ohio Art Council's Individual Excellence Award in Fiction and was named as one of New York Times top books of 2024. She lives in an old, white house beside a historical cemetery with two good dogs and a Roomba.

Trang Thanh Tran (moderator) is the author of She Is a Haunting, a William C. Morris Debut Award finalist and an instant New York Times bestseller and They Bloom at Night. They write speculative stories with big emotions about food, belonging and the Vietnamese diaspora. They grew up in a big family in Philadelphia, then abandoned degrees in sociology and public health to tell stories in Georgia. When not writing, they can be found over-caffeinating on iced coffee and watching zombie movies.

Regan Sandberg (moderator) started her bookstagram while volunteering at an animal shelter. It has been a fun constant for her throughout waiting for bar exam results, working as a public defender, and now being a civil litigator. She loves to post photos of her cats or adoptable cats with book reviews at @mew.reviews.

Indiana Humanities (venue partner) sparks curiosity, connects people, and explores the human experience through programs, grants, and storytelling. Learn more at indianahumanities.org.

Smoking Goose (food vendor) Based on the relationships with farmers and the recipes that they developed behind the counter, Goose the Market grew into Smoking Goose in 2011. Working by hand in small batches with proteins and ingredients raised as nature intended: these are the craft commitments upon which Smoking Goose forges new flavors. These new flavor traditions have earned Smoking Goose nods from Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Good Food Awards, James Beard Foundation, Food & Wine, Bon Appétit, and more. Visit their website for more information.

Shake Up Cocktails (beverage vendor) Shake Up is more than a drink—it's a celebration of Midwest fair culture, crafted with bright citrus, a touch of sweetness, and a smooth splash of spirits. It has become a favorite across Indiana, beloved for its delicious flavor and nostalgic charm. Cocktail aficionados appreciate its balanced and bold taste, while others enjoy its natural ingredients and easy drinkability. Visit their website for more information.
