Do Good, Read Scrolls: D&D at Indy Reads
About this Event
Join Dungeon Masters (DM) Logan Taylor and Jo Shea for Dungeons & Dragons at Indy Reads on the third Friday of each month, 5pm-8pm!
Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) is a roleplaying game where players create characters and roll dice to complete quests. This program is designed for people who have never played before, as well as players who want to make new friends in short campaigns.
5pm-5:30pm: Learn to play Dungeons & Dragons! We will learn the basics of how to play together. This includes the basics of roleplaying, the dice, how to read a character sheet, classes, simple combat, and more!
5:30pm-8pm: Play Dungeons & Dragons! Using what you have learned in the first hour, Dungeon Master (DM) Logan Taylor will take you through a short, 2-hour adventure where you can test your character in a fantasy world.
**Dice, character sheets, and any maps, minis, or terrain that we need will be provided.

This recurring event is recommended for ages 13+.
Space is limited to 15 players per session. Register ahead to secure your spot!
**Please note that Indy Reads will be closed Friday, June 19, 2026, in observance of Juneteenth. June's meeting has been rescheduled to Friday, June 12, 2026 5-8pm.

Logan Taylor is a writer and teacher working in Indianapolis. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Latin and English from Wabash College. He also earned a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Butler University. Logan spends his time writing fiction, playing tabletop RPGs, teaching Vonnegut, and arguing for the artistic merit of videogames on his blog.

Jo Shea is a marketing professional working in Indianapolis. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English and has been exploring storytelling through tabletop RPGs for over a decade. She enjoys exploring niche fandoms, developing cosplays for the incredible cons Indy hosts, and being a regular at small businesses across the city.
