From the vibrant streets of the Congo Basin to the legendary picó sound systems of Colombia’s Caribbean coast, the spirit of Soukous has always been about one thing: unrestricted joy.
On Saturday 25 July from 3pm as part of Leaps and Bounds Music Festival, this historic cross-continental dialogue comes to life at Abbots Yard for TO BINA: A Night of Soukous Vibrations.
Co-curated by PBS FM’s Stani Goma and powered by El Gran Mono—the first authentic picó sound system built outside of Colombia—this is more than an open-air party. It is a celebration of roots, resilience, and the infectious, guitar-driven rhythms that forced the world to move.
TO BINA means “let’s dance!”—and that is exactly what we are going to do.
