Following the World Premiere of "Dharamsala" held at the inaugural Tibet Film Festival (TFF) in Washington, D.C. (November 6–8), the TFF USA team are thrilled to present its exclusive second screening at the first-ever New York edition.

Dharamsala, a small town on the edge of the Indian Himalayas, has been the heart of the exile Tibetan world for six decades. It is the residence of the Dalai Lama, the home of the Tibetan government in exile, and many cultural and religious institutions. Along its narrow, shop-lined lanes and hillside-clinging houses, this town holds the hopes, pain, and aspirations of Tibetans living far from their homeland. It is where the drama of ordinary lives unfold.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

was born in India and now based in Paris, France. She obtained her Masters in Fashion in Paris - Institute Français de la Mode & worked as a designer for a few major brands. Her first short film Seeds was released in 2009, followed by the acclaimed short film, “Royal Cafe” in 2016. She is proud to debut her first feature film “Dharamsala” as part of the inaugural Tibet Film Festival USA.
