QUIR
About this Event
In Palermo, there is a store unlike any other: Quir, where love defies convention. Its owners, Massimo and Gino, have turned this small leather shop into a meeting place for Palermo’s LGBTQ+ community.
Here, people come to talk about love, seek advice, find friendship, and carve out space for other ways of living within Sicily’s rigid social conventions.
The screening will be followed by a presentation and Q&A with Michele Matteini.
Michele Matteini is an art historian at New York University who, in his free time, reads, thinks, and dreams about queer liberation.
After the screening, Michele will stay for an aperitivo and an informal conversation with guests who would like to stay and continue the discussion.
