Our original August 6 Garden Crawl had to be canceled because of rain, thunder and lightning.
Now we’re coming back — and the garden still needs our help!
Join Harlem River Farms at Young Women’s College Preparatory Academy for a hands-on evening of community service, gardening and learning as we help reclaim and restore the school’s growing space.
Several areas of the garden have become heavily overgrown. Our goal for this Crawl is to bring volunteers together to make a visible difference in just three hours.
What We'll Do
🌿 Clear weeds and overgrown vegetation
🌱 Reclaim and clean garden beds
✂️ Trim back plants and vines
🛠️ Clear and organize growing areas
🥬 Prepare beds for future planting
🤝 Help create a stronger growing space for YWCPA students

Who Can Participate?
Everyone!
No gardening experience is necessary. Gardeners, first-time volunteers, students, families, businesses, churches, civic organizations and community groups are encouraged to participate.
What to Bring
👟 Closed-toe shoes
👕 Comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dirty
🧤 Gardening gloves, if available
Most importantly, bring a friend and bring your energy.
The August 6 weather may have delayed us, but it didn't stop the mission.
