About this Event
This throwing workshop is for all levels - suitable for those who wish to master the skill or people who just want to give throwing a try.
Lead by Associate Artist Iris Dina Gunnarsdóttir or Sam Elston. Who will provide an overview of Makerspace for new makers and an introduction to the numerous techniques involved when working on the wheel.
The workshop can work as a single class but is also open for makers to attend weekly to develop their practice. hone their technique and continue individual projects.
THE ASSOCIATE ARTISTS
Iris has a BA in Fine Art at Colchester School of Art and has a wealth of experience, regularly designing and leading a variety of workshops and activities for a number of cultural institutions. For Iris, clay is a material that encourages a calm and reflective way of working. Her classes are light, yet focused and will leave you with a new perspective.
Sam works within illustration & ceramics. His work celebrates playfulness with bright colours and cheerful (sometimes cheeky) characters. Sam started developing his ceramic practice at Colchester Makerspace and now can't get enough of it.
