A thousand years of history. One house. Countless lives. An evening with author and historian Ian Mortimer
About this Event

This is the extraordinary story of England told through one ordinary house on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon. Historian and author, Ian Mortimer has been able to trace daily life here from the coming of the Saxons to the present day. Blending the broadest national history with the most intimate local events, acquainting us with those who occupied the building – from the first known owner, a thirteenth-century priest, to his own family living there today.

Dr Ian Mortimer is best known as the Sunday Times-bestselling author of the four Medieval England, Elizabethan England, Restoration Britain and Regency Britain

Ian is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries, We are delighted he will be talking about his latest book, with us
