This Week's Pianist: Tore Eide Bordal

Concert at Troldhaugen
14 July – 19 July
Tuesday to Sunday every day
10:15, 12:00 and 14:00
Enjoy an intimate and vivid performance by young award winning pianists: Edvard Grieg’s music takes on an entirely new depth when you experience it in the very place where it was composed. A concert at his home Troldhaugen makes it even clearer why this setting still feels like a key to understanding – and coming closer to – his music.
Tore Eide Bordal (b. 1992) grew up in Bergen and followed an unconventional path to the concert stage, having begun playing the piano at the age of eighteen. He completed his Master’s degree in Classical Piano Performance at the Grieg Academy in 2023 and has since established himself as an active performer with engagements both in Norway and abroad.
In recent years, Bordal has undertaken a solo tour of Japan and served as “Pianist of the Week” at Troldhaugen. He is a dedicated advocate for both the classical core repertoire and contemporary music, and in 2026 he completed an extensive tour featuring newly composed works by Norwegian composers.
